Vide notification No PHD- 1124/ CR 106/Japuk (DESK 29) dated 13.09.2024, Government of Maharashtra has changed the date of holiday on account of Eid-e-Milad from 16.09.2024 to 18.09.2024 for the district of Mumbai and Mumbai Suburbs. As per para 3 of the said notification, other than the district of Mumbai and Mumbai Suburbs, the District Collector in other district of state take decision considering, the date of procession program taken by muslims in their districts, whether public holiday declared on Monday, September 16,2024 should be maintained or cancelled the same to declard on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
As per the OM No. 12/2/2023-JCA of the DOPT dated 03.07.2023 para 5.2, it is stated that “For offices outside Delhi / New Delhi, Central Government Employees Coordination Committee at the state capital are authorised to change the date of Holiday, if necessary , based on the decision of the concerned sate government/ UTs, in respect of Idu’l Fitr, Idu’l Zuha, Muharram, Id-e-Milad.
Following the decision of the Government of Maharashtra, the holiday on account of Id-e-Milad is changed to September 18, 2024 in place of September 16, 2024, for the district of Mumbai and Mumbai Suburbs. For the rest of Districts in Maharashtra State, the change of holiday on account of Id-e-Milad will changed to September 18, 2024 only after decision taken by District Administration.
